When and how is the fire and mold treatment applied?
As a standard feature, No Burn of California provides No-Burn® Wood
Gard Mih protection on all wood framing on each home in the community.
This treatment provides protection from fire and toxic mold, which
is sprayed onto the wood by our certified and trained applicators.
It includes a 10-year warranty to the builder. Treating the wood
framing is only possible when being built and therefore is critical
that it be applied during construction.
When and how is the upgraded treatment applied?
No Burn of California provides No-Burn® Plus and No-Burn® Plus
Mih product as a latex paint for interior application for fire or
mold protection. This treatment can be provided as an additional
option and that easily can be a new profit center. Plus Mih can be
tinted or a color coat applied over the top of our paint. Plus Mih
can also be sold as product only with the homebuilder’s painting
contractor applying the interior paint. The National Fire Protection
Association has found from decades of fire research data that four
out of five fatal fires occur in our homes. The most common locations
where fire starts in homes are kitchen, garage and utility rooms
so these rooms should be treated with NB Plus to ensure family safety.
Fabric protection can also be provided on all textiles for maximum
safety.
What does the treatment look like?
No-Burn® Wood Gard Mih is a clear spray-applied liquid and in
some cases
is tinted red to ensure quality application.
No-Burn® Plus Mih is a flat white latex paint type product that can be tinted,
left as the color coat or painted over with a color coat of paint as desired.
What are normal fees?
We have found that your homebuyers value the No-Burn® treatment and benefits
at 1.5 to 2 times our cost to the homebuilder. Make more money for every home
that is treated. Pricing is highly dependent on volume and type of structure.
Do homebuyers really want No Burn treatment?
No Burn of California has found that homebuyers will never ask to have the No-Burn® treatment
removed from the cost of the home even when given the option. Safety is a critical
concern to the most common decision maker in the family as it is so very important
for their peace-of-mind. National exposure of the No-Burn® name and products
has made us better known and have increased the value of our treatment in our
homes. Homebuyers love the No-Burn® safety and overwhelming want the treatment
in their home.
Will the building department have any issues?
As all three of the partner-owners of No Burn of California are either former
building officials or leaders in the codes and standards industry, issues have
been few and minor. No-Burn® treatment is a means to enhance the safety of
a building’s occupants, not a replacement for existing code regulations.
The building department does not regulate or have issues with the No-Burn® treatment
or products.
